Job Summary
Overview:
As an industrial engineer intern at Wonderful Citrus you will focus primarily on the sorting and packing side of the operation. The focus will be on identifying areas of opportunity and developing comprehensive in-house solutions. Simultaneously you will learn about the farming and business side of our operations with a goal to navigate various aspects of the business when developing engineering solutions to best understand their impact. Finally you will work with data to identify trends and build metrics of success. This data will help determine which areas are in need of engineering solutions to improve the operation.
Heres what youll do:
- Identify areas where improvements can be made
- Use data to justify engineering efforts
- Use data to demonstrate the impacts of project implementation
- Develop in-house engineering and process-based solutions to problems limiting or affecting efficiencies
- Train operators on relevant process/task
- Communicate with departments on project direction and implementation
- Develop dashboards to help departments with data analysis
Qualifications :
Heres what youll bring to the table:
- Must be a current Wonderful Scholar
- High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Management or related.
- Must upload a resume professional reference and cover letter with your application.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of beginner proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour.
