Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, Environmental Health & Safety

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible intern for a full-time 8-week summer this position you will gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our talented professionals. This position will be based on-site at Wonderful Citrus located in Delano CA. The schedule for this internship is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Days of the week and work hours may change due to business needs.

Heres what youll do:

• Assist in reviewing packinghouse operational assets to help identify energized equipment and potential safety hazards.
• Support the development of lockout/tagout (LOTO) maps and procedures for various assets and tasks working alongside an experienced maintenance team member.
• Collaborate with an assigned clerical support team member to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Review existing Confined Space documentation to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Help update current Confined Space documents and assist in creating new maps and documentation for additional assets as identified.
• Identify required safety signage for each asset and help compile a list of signage needs.
• Support the process of requesting and organizing the purchase of safety signage.
• Assist with applying and installing safety signage on all applicable assets throughout the facility.

Qualifications :

• Must be a Wonderful Scholar
• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of beginner proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed and able to work autonomously
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and idea
