Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting efforts related to Economic Justice and will lead the Bank On Philadelphia coalition. This position will support interventions that increase access to financial products reduce unbanked and underbanked individuals increase financial inclusion and build out financial education and banking access integrations into existing municipal programs.
The Bank On Fellow will be a member of a Bank On Fellowship cohort in partnership with the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund and 4 other cities around the country. The Bank On Fellow will be supported by the Director of Economic Mobility and the CFE Fund. They will receive coaching and training alongside peer cities in growing their Bank On Coalitions and increasing transformative programing. The Fellow will be responsible for directing and realizing the vision of Bank On Philadelphia overseeing day-to-day operations and coordinating with the CFE Fund. This fellowship is a grant funded position and is a minimum two-year commitment. Continuation leading the Bank On coalition beyond the Fellowship and an expanded portfolio of work to include additional financial empowerment would is contingent upon secured funding.
Essential Functions
Bank On Coalition Management
- Convene or support the BankOn Coalition on a quarterly basis.
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with local regional and national partners including city county and state officials; banks and credit unions; community organizations; researchers and advocates including FDIC Federal Reserve Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
- Develop and support working groups and committees within the Bank On Coalition to work together on a monthly or as needed basis.
- With the Director of Economic Mobility and the Bank On Co-Chairs design a Bank On Coalition strategy mission and shared goals.
Program Management
- Collaboratively work to identify and cultivate opportunities to incorporate banking access into existing program infrastructure. Work with program partners to implement successful banking and financial literacy integrations.
- Develop program metrics and capture appropriate data for programs.
Participation in Learning Community
- Work with the CFE Fund to inform the local Bank On program model and coordinate the Fellowship cohort initiative.
- Actively participate in Bank On Fellows learning community opportunities.
- Assist in reporting to the CFE Fund on Fellowship activities and program progress.
Communications
- Serve as a resource to the community around banking and financial empowerment issues.
- Work with relevant partners to ensure awareness about and accessibility to certified banking products.
- Manage and support special events promoting financial literacy.
- Communicate the value and mission of the Bank On program to community partners and organizations
- Participate in resource fairs to represent Bank On and CEO.
- Engage and collaborate with non bank program partners who directly provide financial education.
Travel and Virtual Convening
- As applicable some national and local travel as well as at least one mandatory in-person training in September 2026.

Qualifications :
- Four (4) year college degree and masters degree preferred; equivalencies in education and experience will be considered.
- Previous work in non-profit or public sector preferred.
- 5 years of relevant professional experience working with a range of stakeholders including non-profits government representatives financial institutions.
- Familiarity with financial empowerment issues including banking mainstream financial products and Community Reinvestment Act preferred.
- Familiarity with challenges facing unbanked/underbanked individuals preferred.
- Strong background in community organizing coalition management or multi-sector collaboration required
- Experience with public speaking writing and presentation skills required.
Compassion and understanding of the social issues/structures surrounding the complexities of being unbanked.
