Manager Engineering-Java Backend Chennai
The Backend Team Leader is a key function in NIQ Activate R&D organization with responsibility for leading a team of S/W engineers while building new
product solutions for our rapidly expanding customer base working with top client & server technologies in an open collaborative and innovative environment. The team leads must be hands-on splitting his/her time between 50% team lead work such as review planning and team management and 50% as S/W engineer.
As a Manager you will be building and leading a dedicated team of S/W engineers focused on execution & delivery.
Monitor the teams performance and metrics identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments and peers to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
Manage team schedules and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage and effective utilization of resources.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing micro-services from design to production.
- Backend design and implementation
- Take ownership of development maintenance testing strategy design discussions and operations of the team with containerized API services
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design implementation and deployment.
- Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features/components
- Ensuring application performance uptime and scale maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
- Work with a small cross-functional team on products and features to drive growth.
- Learning new tools languages workflows and philosophies to grow
- Research and suggest new technologies for boosting the product.
- Have an impact on product development by making important technical decisions influencing the system architecture development practices and more.
Qualifications :
- Must have a . in computer science or equivalent.
- 10 years as a Backend developer with at least 2 years of experience in team management.
- Experience and knowledge of server-side technologies: Java Spring boot
- Experience with large-scale SQL / NoSQL databases.
- Fluent with Relational databases.
- Good problem-solving and analysis abilities
- Good to have experience with Docker containers Kubernetes and Cloud environments
- Experience working in agile methodologies and sprint planning
