We are looking to recruit a Transitions Adviser for Colombia to be hosted by UNOCHA. The Transitions Adviser will serve as liaison with the UN Verification Mission to Colombia on political and peace issues and the UN Country Team (UNCT) and Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) as required.
The transitions adviser will strengthen the coherence of the UN System including liaison between the UNCT the HCT and the UN Verification Mission and coordination with the Colombian Government and donors to make tangible contributions towards an inclusive and sustainable peace along the lines of the UN Secretary Generals vision to better connect humanitarian peacebuilding and development efforts
Under the supervision of OCHAs Head of Office advising the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC) and in close coordination with UN Verification Mission to Colombia the Transitions Advisor will provide analytic planning coordination and liaising capacity focusing on the following tasks:
Support the RC/HC in the development of coherent UN programmatic engagement in areas aimed at sustaining peace and preventing conflict.
Support the RC/HC in coordinating interagency results groups aimed at establishing a coherent and integrated UN approach to sustaining peace and conflict prevention (including the normative standards outlined in UN Security Council Resolutions and recommendations by UN Human Rights bodies).
Advanced university degree (Masters Degree) in political science sociology international relations international economics law public administration or other related social lieu of an Advanced degree a Bachelor university degree with additional years of experience.
