Engineering Manager Delivery Lead

Role Summary:

F5 is looking for an ambitious and technically skilledSoftware Engineering Managerto join our growingAI Security team. In this role you will lead a multidisciplinary team ofFrontend Backend and QA engineerstasked with deliveringcutting-edgeAI security features within F5sGuardrailsandRed Team products. As a leader you willbe responsible fortheend-to-end deliveryof scalable high-performance and secure solutions while empowering your team to excel and grow.

Your leadership will drive every aspect of the software development lifecycle ensuring that the architecture is scalable the code is robust and the teamoperateseffectively and efficiently. You will partner with Product Management UX Designers and Data Scientists to align technical solutions with F5s strategic goals and deliver innovative customer-focused results.

Our stackleveragesmodern technologies includingVue 3 (TypeScript)Python (FastAPI) andPlaywrightfor automated quality testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery and Execution

• Oversee theend-to-end delivery of featuresacross the AI Security teams product offerings ensuring projects are completed withhigh qualityperformance and within scheduled timelines.

• Continuouslyimprovedevelopment processes ensuring the teamoperateswithin an efficient and scalableAgile workflow.

• Define and track project milestones proactively identifying and mitigating risks to avoid roadblocks.

Leadership and Team Development

• Manage mentor and coach a multidisciplinary engineering team fostering a culture ofcontinuous learning career growth and high performance.

• Provideguidance and technical oversightin solving complex engineering challenges empowering team members to innovate.

• Recruit onboard and scale the team effectively supporting individual career development and ensuring alignment with F5s businessobjectives.

Technical Oversight and Strategy

• Collaborate withProduct ManagersUX Designers andData Scientiststo shape product vision ensuring it aligns with both technical feasibility and customer needs.

• Providehigh-level architectural guidance ensuring scalable secure and high-performing systems.

• Lead discussions aroundfrontend and backend architecture design patterns and web application scaling strategies.

Partnership and Collaboration

• Engage cross-functionally with Product Marketing Sales and Customer Support stakeholders translating ideas into actionable technical solutions.

• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders presenting complex technical concepts in a way that ensures alignment and understanding.

Quality and Process Efficiency

• Ensure high technical standards by overseeingcode reviewstesting strategies anddeployment processesto ensure robust and reliable systems.

• Activelycontributeto the adoption ofDevOps best practices driving automation and reliability inF5sproduct delivery processes.

• Promote innovation in the full software development lifecycle by regularly evaluating and adopting new tools and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

Leadership Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in an engineering management role with a proventrack recordof effectively leading multidisciplinary teams in delivering software projects.

• Experience inteam scaling and recruitment while building a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

Technical Background

• 8 years of experienceinSoftware Engineering including extensive experience withfrontendandbackendweb application delivery.

• Architectural Expertise: Advanced knowledge of frontend/backend application architecture design patterns scalability and performance tuning.

• Proficiencyin web frameworks such asVue 3ReactFastAPI orDjango with hands-on experience leading teams through large scalable projects.

Agile and Process Focused

• Proven ability to leadAgile workflows managing sprints and ensuring product development stays on track.

• Focused on improving process accuracy and reducing inefficiencies drivingaccountabilityand structure in software delivery.

Communication Skills

• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike ensuring alignment and clarity across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building andmaintainingSaaSandhosted applications including scaling systems across global infrastructures.

• Familiarity withsecurity domainsAI-driven applications and managing hybrid or remote teams across different time zones.

• Proficiencyin modern platform and infrastructure tools such asDockerKubernetes or cloud infrastructure (AWS GCP or Azure).

• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks such asPlaywrightorSelenium and experience ensuring QA excellence within Agile teams.

• Background in building and deliveringAI-powered or security-focused products.
