CGI is expanding its cloud and platform support capabilities across Atlantic Canada and is seeking a Cloud Support Specialist to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position with a hybrid work model requiring 23 days per week onsite from one of our Atlantic Canada offices: Halifax NS; Fredericton NB; Moncton NB; Stratford PEI; or St. Johns NL.
In this role you will support and improve a clients internal cloud platform experience across AWS operations and Developer Experience (DevEx). The client operates in an automation-first environment where most work is performed through code CI/CD pipelines and AWS CLI/API interactions rather than console-based workflows. You will own support intake and resolution work closely with platform and security teams and continuously improve support through documentation self-service and lightweight automation. This role does not include an on-call requirement.
Support intake and ticket ownership
Triage incoming service requests clarify requirements prioritize work and drive tickets to resolution
Provide clear and consistent communication to requestors including timely updates next steps and detailed closure notes
Identify recurring request types and recommend process documentation or automation improvements to reduce repeat work
AWS access and operational support
Fulfill AWS access requests including IAM roles and policies approval workflows permission troubleshooting and least-privilege adjustments
Investigate and resolve common AWS operational issues including failures related to permissions connectivity service configuration and logs
Diagnose issues using AWS CLI and APIs across services such as IAM STS CloudWatch S3 EC2 and VPC networking fundamentals
Collaborate with platform and security teams to ensure remediation items are implemented consistently and securely
Developer Experience (CI/CD and repository support)
Troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipeline issues including runner configuration permissions secrets and variables templates and artifact failures
Support repository workflows including access requests protected branches merge strategies and enforcement of standard guardrails
Assist development teams in adopting standard patterns that improve reliability and reduce dependency on manual support
Continuous improvement
Create and maintain practical runbooks knowledge base articles FAQs and support documentation
Develop small automation tools or scripts using Python and/or Bash to eliminate repetitive manual tasks
Contribute minor updates to Infrastructure-as-Code patterns (e.g. Terraform modules) through pull requests following established standards
34 years of experience supporting cloud platforms infrastructure or developer tooling in production environments
Hands-on AWS experience in an API- and CLI-driven environment with limited reliance on the AWS Management Console
Strong understanding of AWS IAM including policy evaluation assume-role flows and least-privilege access design
Practical troubleshooting experience across logs metrics and networking fundamentals (DNS TLS/HTTP security groups routing concepts)
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows particularly with GitLab CI/CD
Strong understanding of Git fundamentals including branching merging protected branches and merge request workflows
Experience scripting or automating tasks using Python and/or Bash
Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ownership of support tickets from intake to closure
Nice to have
Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch or Datadog
Exposure to security and compliance workflows including access reviews and audit-friendly change tracking
Experience supporting containerized environments (ECS EKS or Kubernetes)
