Master HR Systems & Data Analytics at Scale

Audit 2000 Positions Across Two Enterprise HR Systems

If you like working with data solving puzzles and seeing measurable results from your work this is your internship. Youll audit position data across DMVs entire workforce (2000 positions) track discrepancies and help maintain compliance with federal and state HR regulations. By the end of summer youll have concrete metrics showing exactly what you accomplished.

The Challenge

DMV uses two major HR systems (Cardinal HCM and PageUp) to manage position data pay classifications and compliance flags for over 3000 employees. When data doesnt match between systems it creates compliance risks and operational headaches. Your job Find every discrepancy document it and help fix it.

The Project: Classification & Compensation Data Audit

Conduct a comprehensive audit of position data across enterprise HR systems ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This is detail-oriented work that requires analytical thinking Excel proficiency and a systematic approach to quality assurance. If youre the kind of person who finds satisfaction in clean data and completed checklists youll excel here.

What Youll Do:

Data Audit & Analysis:

  • Review 2000 DMV positions across multiple data elements

  • Compare position data between Cardinal HCM andPageUpsystems

  • Identifydiscrepancies in critical compliance fields (EEO codes FLSA status SOC codes telework eligibility etc.)

  • Track Safety Sensitive status Critical/Hard-to-Fill designations and SOEI classifications

Documentation & Tracking:

  • Build andmaintainmaster Excel tracking workbook

  • Create change logs documenting before/after values

  • Monitor completion status of corrections

  • Generate weekly progress reports with metrics

Quality Assurance:

  • Flag discrepancies for Classification & Compensation team review

  • Document required system corrections

  • Track remediation completion rates

  • Develop process documentation for future audit cycles

Master Tracking Workbook:

  • Comprehensive documentation of all 2000 positions audited

  • Discrepancy identification with before/after values

  • Change log and completion status tracking

Progress Reporting:

  • Weekly reports quantifying positions reviewed

Final Audit Summary:

Minimum Qualifications

At least 18 years of age at the start of employment/internship
As of May 2026 must have completed at least 2 semesters (24 credit hours) and be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a two or four-year college/university
Recent graduates (May 2026 or December 2025) are also eligible to apply
Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (exceptions can apply in extenuating circumstances)
Strong communication presentation and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is critical

  • Available 40 hours/week on-site

Additional Considerations

Recently graduated with an associates or bachelors degree in December 2025 or May 2026 OR as of May 2026 completed at least 4 semesters (48 credit hours) and be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a two or four-year college/university in Business Administration Human Resources Management Management Information Systems Public Administration Business or Data Analytics Economics or Statistics.
