Job Description





We are seeking multiple detail-oriented and versatile individuals to join our these roles you will respond to a wide variety of inquiries both in person and by telephone adhering to division standards. You will perform cross-training duties by assisting in other positions within the department to help manage workload and backlog. Key responsibilities include receiving new filings for civil domestic small claims and appeal cases; entering information into the CourtView case management system; prioritizing and routing files appropriately; and closing case files with accurate computer entries. You will also prepare judgments calculate interest and enter awards for costs and attorney fees as well as issue writs of execution and garnishment for collections. Additional duties include receiving and processing funds for garnishments executions research fees fines restitution and direct payments as well as handling cash bail and bond data entry. The position requires researching civil criminal probate and small claims files for proper documentation prior to fund release and may include balancing daily bank deposits. Individuals will also provide assistance to other divisions during downtime and perform other duties as assigned.

This job classification may promote to salary range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.

Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for advance step placement.



You must be able to operate a 10-key calculator by touch have working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Word Excel spreadsheets and formulas.

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.

Substitution:

Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.

Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.

Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary paralegal or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
