The Opportunity
Youre a builder of vibrant online communities high-performing digital marketplaces and meaningful member connections. As our Director Community Exchange & Marketplace youll lead the vision strategy and long-term growth of AMAs digital marketplace and community ecosystem. Youll shape a platform that brings people together fuels connection facilitates transactions and delivers genuine valuewhile ensuring trust safety and a member-first experience at every step.
In this role youll combine business strategy digital innovation community outreach operational leadership and performance analytics to scale a marketplace and community experience that becomes an essential part of AMAs broader impact work. Youll report to the Vice President Corporate Purpose & Chief Transformation Officer and serve as a key leader within the Corporate Purpose & Transformation teams.

How Youll Make an Impact
Set the Strategic Direction of the Marketplace & Community Ecosystem
- Build and execute a long-term strategy aligned with AMAs goals and values.
- Own growth targets including acquisition activation conversion retention and revenue.
- Define track and report on OKRs that reflect marketplace health and community engagement.
Optimize and Advance the Marketplace Business Model
- Develop marketplace economics pricing models and monetization strategies.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure an exceptional trustworthy user experience.
- Balance supply and demand while optimizing unit economics for sustainable growth.
- Partner with Technology teams to deliver enhancements integrations and efficient issue resolution.
Grow and Engage the Member Community
- Build and scale digital spaces where AMA members can connect based on interests neighborhoods and shared experiences.
- Lead community management practices including moderation frameworks conflict resolution and safety protocols.
- Support Engagement Managers/Specialists in developing outreach programs that fuel participation and belonging.
Lead the Digital Roadmap & Performance Analytics
- Develop and manage a unified digital roadmap that advances marketplace and community features.
- Use data and analytics to guide decision-making around traffic engagement trust indicators conversions and revenue.
- Drive innovation through experimentation A/B testing and continuous iteration.
- Report regularly on performance insights that influence strategic direction.
Expand Reach Through Partnerships & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Identify negotiate and manage partnerships that expand marketplace supply or enrich community value.
- Collaborate closely with Membership Marketing Technology Finance Customer Service and Community Engagement teams.
- Represent AMAs marketplace and community ecosystem with external partners associations and community leaders.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelors degree in Business Digital Marketing Digital Strategy or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 5 years leading digital/UX teams and owning a digital line of business (marketplace e-commerce digital program leadership).
- Proven success driving performance engagement and revenue in digital environments.
- Experience with analytics tools CRM systems and digital marketing strategies.
- Strong leadership communication analytical thinking and relationship-building skills.
