Business Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with expertise in Power BI to join our team. This role combines analytical thinking with technical proficiency to transform business data into actionable insights through compelling visual dashboards and reports.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for dashboard development. Analyze complex datasets to identify trends patterns and opportunities for business improvement. Conduct gap analysis between current reporting capabilities and business needs.

Power BI Dashboard Development Design develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Create data models establish relationships between datasets and optimize performance for large-scale data visualization. Implement advanced features including custom visuals calculated columns measures using DAX and automated refresh schedules.

Data Management & Integration Extract transform and load (ETL) data from multiple sources including SQL databases Excel files SharePoint and cloud-based systems. Ensure data quality consistency and accuracy across all reporting platforms. Develop and maintain data connections and gateways for real-time reporting capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with business users to gather requirements provide training on dashboard usage and ensure deliverables meet business objectives. Present findings and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing dashboards and reports.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI including Power BI Desktop Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server. Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M query language for data transformation. Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.

Analytical Skills Bachelors degree in Business Administration Data Analytics Computer Science or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business analysis or data analytics roles. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Communication & Collaboration Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong presentation skills and ability to create executive-level reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced certifications in Microsoft Power BI or related Microsoft technologies.

Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau QlikView or similar platforms.

Knowledge of Azure services particularly Azure Analysis Services and Azure Data Factory.

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for advanced analytics.

Experience in commercial real estate or similar industry domain knowledge.
