The US Public Finance Housing team is a dynamic collaborative group that covers a portfolio of approximately 600 ratings associated with housing finance agencies public housing authorities and community development finance institutions. We analyze capital fund financings and federally-enhanced housing issues across the country combining independent analytical work with strong team collaboration. Our team values analytical excellence strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex housing market dynamics into clear actionable insights for our clients and stakeholders.

Impact:

This role drives S&P Global Ratings market relevance for housing credits by producing rigorous committeeready analysis that informs investor decisions and issuer access to capital. The Senior Analysts work directly affects rating outcomes client relationships and the firms reputation.

Responsibilities :

• Act as the primary analyst for housing credits of varying size and complexity demonstrating expertise in public finance housing sector analysis.

• Prepare comprehensive analyses for internal rating committee presentations and external publication showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Oversee annual surveillance activities for your assigned portfolio of credits ensuring quality standards and timely delivery

• Actively participate in rating committees as a contributing team member providing well-reasoned analytical perspectives

• Write rating summaries and analytical reports that synthesize complex analysis into clear well-supported conclusions demonstrating mastery of S&P methodologies and financial markets understanding

• Communicate rating results and analysis effectively to diverse stakeholders including clients financial intermediaries investors and media while publishing timely industry commentaries and thought leadership pieces

Compensation/Benefits Information:(This section is only applicable to US candidates): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this positionis USD 100000 to 122000.Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required (Masters degree in business public policy public administration or related field preferred)

• An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2 years of extensive experience related to Public Finance with Public Finance Housing sector experience preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively under general guidance while exercising decision-making authority

• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills with ability to integrate and communicate complex information within the public finance specialization

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment while thriving in independent work situations

• Strong time management and organizational skills with consistent ability to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines

• All employeesare required towork from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

• Werequireall candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we canproceedto an offer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience advising on complex public finance housing issues and providing analytical perspectives to senior staff

• Proven ability to build relationships with peers outside of immediate team and function

• Demonstrated initiative in identifying and addressing problems or suggesting process improvements within public finance operations

• Change-ready mindset with preparation to adapt to evolving analytical workflows including AI-human collaborative processes
