Job Description

Work Arrangement:

Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

The Role:

GM Fairfax Stamping in Kansas City KS is pursuing a Tool and Die Group Leader. We are seeking individuals with technical knowledge that can plan assist and lead a team of diemakers at our site with tasks ranging from new die tryout die maintenance and continuous improvement as well as engineering changes during the life of a vehicle program. Die design review support may be required during a new vehicle launch process. Safety is most important to us followed by people & quality at our facility. Leading safety people and quality of work is of high priority in the daily activity.

What Youll Do:

Lead a group of UAW tool & die makers in their daily activities

Ensure safe work practices are followed and continually improved

Provide guidance on tryout production operation and maintenance of dies

Lead quality improvement activities to provide high quality parts to the customer

Support business plan deployment objectives

Implement best practices lessons learned and support manufacturing innovations

Travel to die construction sites for buyoffs and tryout as necessary

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Tool & Die

Ability to work full time 40 hours per week & willing to work overtime including weekends as necessary

Willingness to be shift flexible

Ability to travel during die construction and tryout phase of product launches

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

3-5 years of Tool & Die experience

Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
