CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Support Technician performs duties related to the procedure process in clinical care settings in accordance with established policies and regulations and anticipates the needs of patients physicians and department staff. Moreover the incumbent prepares and maintains supplies instruments and equipment and adheres to strict aseptic techniques and standard precautions. The Clinical Support Technician performs routine care and cleaning of endoscopy equipment.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Maintains clean and safe environment by cleaning and defrosting refrigerators removing dirty linens appropriately cleaning and preparing patient carts as well as cleaning and processing endoscopy instruments and equipment.
2. Maintains inventories and communicates needs to appropriate personnel.
3. Obtains and distributes supplies into assigned areas.
4. Maintains a neat and organized work area preventing cluttering of the hallways.
5. Ensures all equipment is kept in designated areas.
6. Demonstrates effective communication with other staff members physician patients and visitors.
7. Demonstrating knowledge and skill in precleaning leak testing endoscope cleaning and disinfection and storage following established protocols.
8. Maintains quality controls within department.
9. Tears down procedure rooms at end of day and prepares room for next day cases including restocking of supplies.
10. Transports patients utilizing safe technique.
11. Assists with equipment management by troubleshooting and following up on all equipment issues.
12. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience certification or license

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures technologies and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.

  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
