DIRECTOR TRANSPORTATION
Hybrid role based in Lisle IL and Rosemont IL

This role supports a client within the Transportation (Engineering) industry.
Background:
The Director works closely with the client project and creative teams to develop and implement comprehensive communications plans may include content development for both internal and external communications as well as education and training campaigns intended for diverse audiences using both traditional and emerging Director will transform complex and highly technical information into accessible and compelling content.
The Director is a strategic thinker that bringsnew ideasand a fresh perspective to communicate highly technical materials into digestible terms for the public. They are an experienced project manager and will manage multiple project teams scopes and resources closelymonitoringdeliverables and tracking metrics for successful outcomes.
The Director works closely with clients to engage target audiences and educate them on project goals and benefitsultimately buildingconsensus thatshapespublic policy. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and public speaker and iscomfortablefacilitating meetings with top-level executives.
Communicationsexperience with transportation and infrastructure policy is preferred. Experience working with diverse community groups and building stakeholder engagement plans and coalitions is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadand manage concurrent projects frominceptionto execution.
Leadthe project team and engineers in communicating highly technical and engineering information across multiple platforms to a multitude of audiences.
Leadthe development of communications for technical reports and manuals presentationsnewslettersand print materials.
Leadoutreach for and execution of large-scale events and technical workshops to output client updates to engineersstakeholdersand industry partners.
Developproofand edit a wide range of deliverables including technical reports and manuals presentations email and meeting correspondence and other deliverablesdeemedappropriate forthe project.
Lead open communication with team members and on projects including the opportunity to support meetings (both internally andexternally).
Lead communicationand coordinate with internal team members to share responsibilities and collaborate to execute team deliverables and projects.
Research understand and communicate technicalissues.
Develop correspondence and updates to project deliverables and coordinate with Director on approvals.
Manage and develop a team of communications and creative specialists.
Develop and manage task orders including scope of work and cost proposal.
Oversee project account health including contract compliance and budget.
Interface with communicatewithand provide counsel for clients.
Attend and manage in-person client events and functions.
Job Qualifications:
8yearsprofessional experience in communications for/within the transportation industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking and the ability to convey complex technical topics in a clear and concise manner.
Skilled at working with minimal supervision on high-profile projects.
Strong familiarity with transportation and infrastructure policy local and state government and stakeholders.
Deep experience in government or statewide communications campaigns is preferred.
Bachelors degree in public policy communications politicalscienceor related field.
Mustresidein Illinois have reliable transportation and be willing to travel as needed to client offices and events.
