Geothermal energy is the most abundant renewable energy source in the world. There is 2300 times more energy in geothermal heat in the ground than in oil gas coal and methane combined. However historically its been hard to find and expensive to develop. At Zanskar were using better technology to find and develop new geothermal resources in order to make geothermal a cheap and vital contributor to a carbon-free electrical grid. We are revolutionizing the exploration process setting new industry standards for discovery rates and finding new prospects at an unprecedented scale. To reduce risk and improve outcomes we rely on novel machine learning modeling.

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will design build and operate production-grade geospatial machine learning models within the Prospect Generation team to uncover hidden geothermal systems and drive real-world exploration decisions. A successful candidate will be a hands-on contributor an experienced innovator and a technical leader with an ability to grow deep learning expertise across teams. Strong communication skills are essential as this role requires close collaboration with research engineering geoscience land and field teams. Startup experience is a strong plus.

Competencies What were looking for

6 years professional experience in machine learning engineering preferably in a business environment

Proven technical skills:

Deep expertise in modern deep learning and statistical methods
Proven experience developing deploying and maintaining production-grade machine learning models
Strong software and infrastructure fluency. Our tech stack includes Python SQL PyTorch GitHub and Docker. (Familiarity with GCP Dagster Terraform and QGIS is a plus.)
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with engineers domain experts and non-technical stakeholders
Strong plus: computer vision expertise; experience with geospatial remote sensing or geophysical data
