The Team
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services Kamloops team is a group of experienced professionals including administrative staff clinicians and testing assistants. This established team is part of a larger provincial service and collaborates with social workers psychologists psychiatrists nurses and contractors to provide direct client care. We value the supportive culture within our team making a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of youth in our community.
The Role
The Psychiatric Social Worker plays a key role in a team that supports young people in the justice system. They provide mental health assessments and treatment services including individual group and family counseling. Through a multi-disciplinary approach the objective is to jointly enhance the capacity of communities to plan and care for challenging youth through a closer to home focus. This work is critical in promoting equity diversity and inclusion by addressing the unique needs of each young person.
