Rate of Pay: 13.91- 18.00 per hour
Summary:
The Carelink Mobile Officer provides an efficient safe and comprehensive emergency response service to users of the Community Alarm service. Working individually or in pairs the post holder responds to emergency calls to assess situations provide personal care when necessary and install or maintain alarm technology. This role is essential for supporting elderly residents and adults with disabilities ensuring they can remain safe and independent in their own homes.
Responsibilities:
- Respond immediately to emergency calls via the Control Centre assessing the situation and taking appropriate action including contacting emergency services.
- Provide or assist customers with personal care if scheduled services fail to attend or in emergencies using appropriate moving and handling aids
- Undertake environmental risk assessments for all customers and complete detailed biographies to ensure the database remains accurate
- Conduct routine visits to check equipment secure homes after an emergency and alert next of kin GPs or Social Workers regarding health concerns.
- Use provided council vehicles ensuring they are roadworthy and logging all faults or repairs at the start of each shift.
- Assist in promoting the Carelink service through talks and provide training or induction for new mobile officers as required.
Qualifications:
- No specific degrees required but must be a good communicator with the ability to write neatly and clearly.
Essentials:
- Previous experience in moving and handling.
- Experience working in the Adult Social Care or general care sector
- Some knowledge of Care in the Community legislation.
- Strong ability to empathize with the elderly individuals with physical disabilities or those in distress.
- A full UK driving license
