Our law firm is seeking a Consultation Attorney to meet with individuals and families facing some of the most sensitive and complex issues in family this role you will guide prospective clients through matters involving child custody child abuse and domestic violence as well as prenuptial agreements divorce spousal maintenance child support and real estate issues connected to family transitions.
The ideal candidate is confident compassionate and skilled at assessing cases quickly and clearly in emotionally charged situations. You should be comfortable explaining legal options setting realistic expectations and engaging in thoughtful discussion and negotiation during consultations. Litigation experience is helpful but the primary focus of this role is client evaluation education and intake rather than ongoing case management.

- Conduct initial consultations with prospective family law clients both in person and virtually
- Evaluate legal issues related to child custody divorce spousal maintenance child support domestic violence child abuse prenuptial agreements and related real estate matters
- Identify legal issues risks and potential strategies based on client goals and circumstances
- Clearly explain legal options processes and potential outcomes in an empathetic and easy-to-understand manner
- Manage emotionally charged conversations with professionalism compassion and authority
- Set realistic expectations regarding timelines costs and likely outcomes
- Collaborate with intake staff and managing attorneys to determine case fit and next steps
- Accurately document consultation notes and recommendations in the firms systems
- Support client conversion by aligning legal strategy with the firms services and approach
- Stay current on Arizona family law statutes rules and relevant case law
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Arizona and in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law including divorce child custody and support matters
- Strong understanding of Arizona family law statutes rules and procedures
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and compassionately
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm confident and authoritative in emotionally charged consultations
- Strong issue-spotting and analytical skills with the ability to assess cases efficiently
- Comfortable making judgment calls regarding case fit and setting realistic client expectations
- Experience with client-facing consultations intake or sales-oriented legal roles preferred
- Strong organizational and documentation skills including accurate note-taking and follow-through
- Ability to work collaboratively with intake staff paralegals and attorneys
