We are seeking a passionate nurturing and committed EYFS Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Tonbridge starting as soon as possible. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with children at a formative stage of their education helping to establish strong foundations in learning confidence and personal development.
As an EYFS Teacher you will lead a Reception or Nursery class delivering high-quality provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The school values a child-centred approach that balances structured learning with purposeful play and is looking for a teacher who understands how young children learn best.
You will be part of a collaborative Early Years team that works closely together to ensure consistency progression and high standards. Leadership is supportive and committed to providing the guidance and resources needed for staff to succeed in their roles.
Your Role
In this role you will plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that support childrens development across all areas of the EYFS curriculum. You will create a safe stimulating and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore communicate and develop independence.
You will observe and assess children regularly using this information to inform planning and provide targeted support. Strong communication with parents and carers is an important part of the role ensuring positive relationships and shared understanding of each childs progress.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality EYFS provision aligned with statutory guidance
Create a nurturing engaging and well-organised learning environment
Observe assess and record childrens progress and development
Use assessment to plan next steps and support individual needs
Promote positive behaviour independence and social development
Support early literacy numeracy and communication skills
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
A qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experienced in Early Years or Reception teaching
Confident in delivering play-based and structured learning
Nurturing patient and enthusiastic
Organised reflective and adaptable
Committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
Willing to contribute positively to the wider school community
Early Career Teachers with a strong interest in EYFS are encouraged to apply and will receive appropriate support.
