Inspire Pupils at the Start of Key Stage 2
We are seeking a passionate organised and dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Watford starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils transitioning into Key Stage 2 helping them consolidate core skills develop independence and foster a lifelong love of learning.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 3 class delivering high-quality engaging lessons across all subjects. The school values inclusive practice high expectations and pupil wellbeing seeking a teacher who can inspire and motivate pupils both academically and socially.
You will join a collaborative Key Stage 2 team where shared planning reflective practice and professional development are encouraged. Leadership is approachable and supportive providing staff with the guidance and resources necessary to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
The Role
As a Year 3 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons that challenge pupils while supporting all abilities. You will use assessment to monitor pupil progress identify learning gaps and inform future planning. Supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development is a key part of the role helping them build resilience confidence and independence.
You will work closely with teaching assistants colleagues and phase leaders to maintain continuity and high standards across Key Stage 2. Communication with parents and carers will also be essential keeping them informed about pupils progress and achievements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 3 curriculum
Monitor and track pupil progress using assessment to inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Maintain a safe structured and inclusive classroom environment
Promote positive behaviour resilience and independence
Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2 ideally Year 3
Be confident in curriculum delivery assessment and differentiation
Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
Have a positive professional approach to teamwork
Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will be supported with mentoring.
