Tasks

Laboratory operations

Deliver Laboratory services as per the laboratory services team working on analytical and post analytical elements

Perform tests as requested by the medical personnel as per laboratory standard operating procedures process policies and protocols according to the Ministry of Health and International Standards for the Laboratory services and health and safety

Record and report results in a timely fashion alert doctors about any abnormal

results and be prepared to discuss these with them.

Responsible for running quality control on equipments as per laboratory standard

operating procedures process policies and protocols according to the Ministry of Health and International Standards for the Laboratory services and health and safety

Prepare various reagents and culture medias as per laboratory SOPs and industry standard guidelines

Ensure to release timely patients results while maintaining confidentiality

Validate compliance with finance policy and documentation prior to undertaking laboratory tests

Archive specimens and results as per laboratory procedures

Report without delay any incidents or equipment and Quality control failures and challenges to the Laboratory Manager

Carry out routine checking preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment where applicable.

Continuously liaising with the customer experience team and logistics team on the status of service delivery when on duty

Work as part of TIBU Health multidisciplinary team and liaise with other members of the team to address patient needs

May be called upon to deliver laboratory services as part of the laboratory phlebotomy team as required

Quality

Deliver quality laboratory services as per Ministry of Health and International guidelines as adapted by TIBU health and performance reviewed as prescribed by the supervisor

Deliver quality and complete assignments with clear documentation for TIBU Clients and prepare laboratory activity reports as required

Participate in training programs organized by TIBU Health laboratory or any of the other affiliate laboratories

Work closely and collaboratively with service delivery nursing programs and laboratory departments to implement shared protocols as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Participate in developing CMEs and grand rounds for continuous medical education; Attendance of TIBU Health CME meetings is mandatory

Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings where necessary

Adhere to quality standards as indicated in the TIBU Health Quality Manual

Participate in root cause analysis meetings as required

Innovation

Identify technology gaps propose software solutions and identify novel and innovative ways to improve the patient journey and experience across platforms.

Identify and propose tools and materials needed to execute the laboratory service

Work with the laboratory team logistics and CMO to test implement and grow innovative programs

Other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Sciences

At least 4 years experience working in medical laboratories.

Experience in laboratory audit processes

Conversant with the formulation and review of SOPs

Basic experience working with technology will be an added advantage

Must have working computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

Certificate of Registration from the respective professional regulatory body.

Valid Professional Practice License.
Team Player

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
