The Shire of Carnarvon is seekingexpressions of interest from community members who would like to volunteer withthe Gascoyne River Bush Fire Brigade.
Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play a vital rolein protecting lives property and the natural environment across the Brigade responds to bushfires and supports fire prevention and preparednessactivities particularly in rural and remote areas.
Who can volunteer
We welcome expressions of interest from peoplewho:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Are willing to work as part of a team
- Have a strong commitment to community safety
- Are able to attend training and respond to incidents when available
No previous firefighting experience isrequired. All necessary training equipment and protective clothing will beprovided.
What does volunteering involve
- Responding to bushfire incidents when safe and available
- Participating in training and skills development
- Supporting fire prevention and mitigation activities
- Contributing to community resilience and emergency preparedness
