Summary
- This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority focused on delivering comprehensive person-centered occupational therapy assessments for adults with complex substantial or long-term disabilities within the community. The role aims to promote independence prevent long-term care needs and ensure appropriate interventions equipment or adaptations are implemented. As part of a multidisciplinary neighborhood-based team you will deliver integrated outcome-focused services supervise OT Assistants and contribute to high-quality adult social care in line with the Councils vision and legislative requirements. Ensuring accurate recording professional standards and timely decision-making is crucial to support safe and effective care planning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed occupational therapy assessments under relevant legislation including the Care Act Mental Capacity Act and Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act.
- Provide recommendations for specialist equipment environmental adaptations assistive technology and Telecare.
- Complete functional assessments to support care planning and promote independence.
- Design clear and accurate specifications for adaptations across various housing types.
- Review equipment adaptations and support packages to ensure ongoing suitability and safety.
Requirements
- Experience in conducting effective occupational therapy assessments for adults with diverse and complex needs within a community setting.
- Skilled in recommending occupational therapy interventions equipment manual handling solutions and home adaptations.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered).
- Enhanced DBS Check required.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
