The Position

Reporting directly to the General Manager as the Community Lead Customer Engagement you serve as a pivotal member of the Enabling Team acting as a Leader of Leaders who architects high-level strategy and empowers our community of this senior leadership position you are the driving force behind Roche Australias field-based excellence. Your purpose is to foster a High-Performing Organisation (HPO) by leading a highly motivated customer-facing workforce dedicated to delivering compelling product and healthcare information.


You will be bridging the gap between internal strategy and external execution. By embracing VACC (Visionary Architect Catalyst Coach) leadership roles you will unlock the potential of our field teams ensuring they navigate the complex Australian healthcare landscape with agility to deliver Triple Win outcomes for patients providers and Roche.

What you will be working on:

In this strategic role you will pivot between long-term system shaping and immediate impact to deliver therapeutic area outcomes. You will be responsible for but may not be limited to:

  • Organisational Leadership: Join the Enabling Team to collectively own all affiliate outcomes and establish the strategic direction for the entire organisation.

  • Field Strategy & Alignment: Drive in-field strategy ensuring absolute alignment with the Therapeutic Area (TA) strategies developed within our squads.

  • Leading Commercial Customer Engagement Efforts: Directly lead Chapter Leads (Catalysts) of our commercial Patient Journey Partners in the Customer Healthcare Ecosystem including Learning & Development Partners.

  • Customer Engagement Innovation: Adopt and evolve the Roche customer engagement model to create the best possible experience for HCPs and key stakeholders.

  • Triple Win Delivery: Drive commercial efforts that prioritise tangible value for customers while delivering sustainable revenue for the organisation.

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify and establish above-brand and TA-specific strategic partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.

  • Resource & Strategy Optimisation: Drive enterprise-wide thinking to ensure resource allocation is optimised for peak field effectiveness.

  • Agile Coaching: Coach your teams to achieve outcomes with a sense of urgency a creative mindset and a commitment to rapid learning.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster an environment where cross-functional team members collaborate deeply and embrace diverse perspectives.

  • Global & Regional Synergy: Liaise with APAC and global networks to facilitate strategic alignment collaboration and talent development.

  • Cultural Guardianship: Act as an ambassador for our HPO culture transitioning the organisation from talking to doing.

  • Ethical Excellence: Lead by example in compliance ensuring all in-field interactions meet Roche TGA and Medicines Australia ethical standards.

  • Strategic Field Leader: You have a proven track record in sales management and commercial operations within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Agile Catalyst: You demonstrate a high level of agility and the ability to remove roadblocks helping your team make quick impactful decisions.

  • Ambiguity Navigator: You excel at leading complex multi-disciplinary teams through ambiguity.

  • Influencer & Negotiator: You possess high interpersonal intelligence and the ability to resolve conflict and to influence across matrixed global networks.

  • Growth Mindset Champion: You instil a culture of continuous development identifying and accelerating the growth of key talent.

  • Academic & Professional Foundation: You are a university graduate (Science Pharmacy Medicine or equivalent) with extensive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

This Sydney-basedrole is open to candidates that have full eligibility to live and work in Australia. Experience within the Australian healthcare market is key.
