About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Professional Standards (Regulatory) team as Inspectorate Manager. This pivotal role focuses on the regulation of law firms trust accounts in accordance with the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Trust Account) Regulations 2008.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Inspectorate team ensuring all activities meet regulatory obligations and are delivered through streamlined risk-based processes that support continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to shape national standards drive innovation and foster a high-performing future-focused team culture.

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business Accounting Law or a related field (desirable).
  • Proven experience in leading and managing professional teams with a focus on performance development and strategic alignment.
  • Demonstrated experience in audit assurance or risk-based regulatory environments ideally within the legal financial or public sector.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear concise reports and present evidence before tribunals and courts.
  • High level of discretion integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Willingness to travel as required (a current drivers licence is essential).
