About the Program
Our School Services Team works across headspace Dandenong and headspace Hastings to support young people in Victorian government secondary schools. Through the Enhanced Mental Health Support in Schools (EMHSS) program clinicians provide early intervention evidence-based mental health support to young people from Years 712.
The team delivers a combination of in-person school-based and telehealth services ensuring support is accessible safe and empowering for every young person we walk alongside.
Your role your impact
As a headspace EMHSS Clinician youll be part of a service making a real difference in the lives of young people navigating mild to moderate mental health challenges. Your work helps create safer healthier learning environments and supports students families schools and communities toward better wellbeing outcomes.
You will:
- Deliver evidencebased short- to mediumterm interventions for young people experiencing a range of mental health and psychosocial needs
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments using tools such as HEADSS MSE and risk assessments
- Coordinate care and collaborate with families schools support networks and external agencies
- Equip schools with resources and tools that build positive mentally healthy learning environments
- Provide early intervention support to reduce the likelihood of future mental health concerns
- Maintain high-quality documentation and clinical governance
- Participate in supervision clinical review and team development to support best practice

You have:
- Previous experience supporting young people with varied mental health presentations
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s and registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA AASW PACFA ACA or relevant professional association
- Skills in counselling assessment mediation and care coordination
- Experience working with communities from diverse cultural linguistic and social backgrounds
- Ability to engage with young people families and school staff with compassion and confidence
- A valid drivers licence
What will make you stand out
- Postgraduate qualifications in a related field
- Experience delivering mental health support in school settings
- Familiarity with evidence-based interventions for adolescents (e.g. anxiety management self-esteem programs group work)
- Experience working in notforprofit or community settings
