Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Program Manager to play a critical role in delivering bridge inspection services for a large New Jersey and Pennsylvania Transportation projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex infrastructure programs that directly impact regional transportation and safety.
This full-time position will support our bridge inspection practice out of our Conshohocken PA office. The position will involve a combination of office and field work performing bridge load rating analysis and hands-on inspection of bridge structures throughout the region. Load rating analysis tasks will include the use of commercial bridge analysis software as well as occasional finite element modeling. Inspection tasks will include hands-on field observation of a variety of structural systems and documentation of defects. This position is a gateway to a rewarding career which will provide opportunities for professional and technical growth as well as career advancement. AECOM often wins contracts to inspect and analyze some of the most complex and interesting long-span bridges in the area although we also inspect vast numbers of less complex bridges. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Conduct structural analysis of bridges including complex calculations for various bridge types
- Perform hands-on bridge safety inspections in the field
- Develop load rating calculations and models using commercial bridge analysis software and finite element modeling
- Prepare detailed technical reports on bridge conditions including field inspection reports bridge repair recommendations repair schemes and cost estimates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale bridge projects
- Develop and implement bridge maintenance and rehabilitation strategies
- Utilize advanced software for 3D modeling and simulation of bridge structures
- Participate in project planning and budgeting processes
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes standards and regulations in all aspects of work
- Contribute to the development of innovative bridge design and inspection techniques
- Represent the company in client meetings and industry conferences
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- NBIS Certified Bridge Inspector Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- PE license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively
