Job Summary
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: December 31 2026
Work set up: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)
Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an Infrastructure Designer to produce high-quality infrastructure design documentation aligned to solution architectures delivered by third-party suppliers. This role provides technical leadership across projects ensures design compliance across the project portfolio and contributes to infrastructure frameworks design patterns and roadmaps that deliver value for money and service excellence across the banks IT landscape.
What you will do:
- Produce infrastructure design documentation based on solution architecture to be implemented by third-party suppliers.
- Coordinate accurate estimates for inclusion in end-to-end project costs and business cases and assist with estimating end-to-end IT costs.
- Lead technical resources and subject matter experts within projects.
- Contribute to infrastructure solution frameworks and design patterns with awareness of external markets and suppliers.
- Ensure clear root cause is established for incidents impacting Infrastructure CoE deliverables and address issues accordingly.
- Collaborate with third-party supplier build teams and development and test environment leads to ensure solutions are compliant with design.
- Engage with third parties to design product integration with existing and new solutions.
- Act as a technical escalation point and convene troubleshooting teams to resolve infrastructure issues rapidly.
- Provide design inputs across areas such as Mainframe Networks Wintel Database and Connect:Direct.
- Produce and assure design patterns and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Provide technical escalation support for production services and during the build phase of new production services.
Qualifications :
- Extensive experience with VMware platforms infrastructure solutions networking environments and firewall technologies.
- Strong expertise leading infrastructure solution design and process improvement initiatives within IT operational environments that improved efficiency performance and financial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage internal teams business partners customers and external IT service providers.
- Excellent technical documentation and authoring skills.
- Desirable experience with Mainframe technologies such as CICS COBOL Objectstar CA Datacom and VSAM.
- Desirable experience with UNIX environments including AIX Linux and Solaris.
- Desirable experience with Wintel storage and desktop environments.
- Desirable experience with data centre hosting cloud services and integration mobile and BYOD and middleware and integration tools such as IBM Message Broker and DataStage.
