The job

As part of the Research and Development function the global CloudOperations & Infrastructureteam combines software development and cloud operations to provide continuous integration and delivery of cloud-enabled products and solutions. Responsible for deployment and continuous monitoring to ensure various cloud-specific customer requirements/SLAs are met.

As a Senior Cloud Operations& InfrastructureDeveloperyou will play a pivotal role in designing developing and implementing advanced cloud-based applications and services. Your work will focus onbuilding and improving cloud platform capabilities and reliability featuresin cloud computing exploringnew technologies and developing innovative solutions that align with the companys strategic goals.

Working closely with your development and portfolio colleagues together you will bringnew solutionsto the cloud following a standard framework to ensure they are operationally securestableand scalable.

This is a hands-on engineering role:youllwrite code to automate operations improve reliability and build platform incident response and use learnings from production to prevent repeat issues.

This roleparticipatesin a shared on-call rotation primarily supporting UK hours (9am - 5:30pm) in follow-the-sun 24x7 model. Occasional work outside standard hours may berequiredduring incidents or releases.

Key responsibilities

• Providetimelyand effective response to incidents to minimise the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated asrequired.
• Work with development teams to advise and contribute to improvements to operational stability security costmanagementand reporting requirements for our cloud solutions.
• Continually develop and improveSiteReliabilityEngineeringprocesses adding value through optimisationautomationand effective reporting.
• Oversee relevant Cloud deployments to ensure successful implementation track and report progressresolveor escalate release issues.
• Proactively manage cloud environments to minimise serviceimpactingissues including infrastructure as code certificates storage health status backup status etc.
• Ensure new services meet required operational readiness standards before being accepted into operationssupport practices.
• Ensure on-going compliance to security practices and policies.
• Provide subject matterexpertiseto business stakeholders asrequired.
• Maintain clear andaccurateoperational documentation.

Essential requirements

• Knowledge and experience of operational support software development and deployment methodologies and principles.

• Strong programming skills in languages such as C# .

• Expertisein cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or Google Cloud.

• Proficient in containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform Bicep orCloudFormation

• Knowledge of PowerShell Pythonor scripting.

• Understanding of cloud security networking and storage solutions.

• Experience of Azure Service Operator (ASO)HelmandGitOpspractices.

• Strong written verbal and presentation skills able to convey information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
