Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Our national Building Engineering team are looking for a technically strong Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team based in Melbourne. You will be leading a wide variety of Building Services projects across key market sectors.

How youll make a difference:

• Leverage extensive mechanical design experience to deliver high-quality efficient and commercially sound outcomes across health defence transport infrastructure sports infrastructure and data centres and other complex building projects throughout ANZ.
• Provide technical leadership for mechanical design and project delivery on major client projects including undertaking senior-level technical reviews and design assurance.
• Lead multiple technical projects simultaneously ensuring consistent quality technical rigor and timely delivery across a variety of sectors.
• Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams applying technical expertise to drive quality through the review of design calculations specifications drawings and documentation.
• Provide guidance mentoring and technical support to junior engineers in the preparation of high-quality mechanical design documentation and deliverables.

Qualifications :

The qualities that help you thrive:

• Ideally 12 years experience within a Building Services consultancy environment or significant design and delivery experience as a Senior or Project Engineer within the Mechanical Contracting sector.
• RPEV and CPEng preferred.
• Demonstrated track record in high-quality technical design and project delivery with the ability to build maintain and enhance strong client relationships.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Services systems Australian Standards and relevant codes with the ability to effectively share technical expertise with clients junior engineers and broader project teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for mentoring developing and supporting engineers at earlier stages of their careers.
• Proactive approach to driving technical innovation continuous improvement and efficiency within the mechanical engineering team.

Due to the nature of the projects Australian Citizenship / previous Defence Clearance is highly regarded.
