- Assists in the planning organizing and direction of departmental activities in collaboration with the Director and Medical Director.
- Assists in the establishment of performance and productivity standards for the Infection Preventionists. Provides input into the hiring disciplining training and development and performance reviews.
- Serves as a liaison with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Baltimore City and County Health Departments regarding reporting of communicable diseases particularly tuberculosis
- Performs the duties of an Infection Preventionist as needed
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree from an accredited School of Nursing Medical Technology or a related field or equivalent is required. Masters degree is preferred.
- Current licensure in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse or certification as a Registered Medical Technologist is required. Certification from the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control (APIC) as an Infection Control Practitioner is required.
- Two years as an Infection Preventionist with supervisory experience is required.
