Bachelors degree in Social Work Psychology Education or related field.
Desired Education and Experience:
Licensed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Academic and Behavior Technician supports special education practitioners by assisting with data collection and documentation as part of Child Find evaluations. This position will conduct interviews with students educators and/or parents and observe students and/or instruction. All work is conducted under the direction of a special education practitioner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Review student records and summarize important information related to the students education program.
2. Conducts interviews with students educators or parents.
3. Conducts observations of students and instructional activities.
4. Assists with assessments of students without interpretation.
5. Assists with preparing materials and scheduling activities.
6. Assist with data collection and documentation as directed.
7. Participate in professional development activities.
8. Responds to changing educational needs and environments.
9. Maintains confidentiality related to agency district students and family information.
10. Adheres to ethical standards confidentiality requirements (e.g. FERPA HIPAA) and agency policies
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
