Effective July 1 2025 candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Salary Range: $31200.00 - $49340.00

Reporting to the Administrative Officer I. This position will cross train in all areas of Human Resource and serve the Receptionist for Administration. Duties for this position are as followed but are not limited to:

• Assist with special projects such as file review auditing tracking etc.

• Provide assistances with agency staffing review on boarding and interviews

• Stand and walk frequently at times within the facility to perform work assignments

• Always maintain confidentiality

• Review completed task for accuracy attention to detail is required

• Welcome visitors upon arrival

• Direct them to the appropriate person or department

• Answer basic inquiries and maintain a clean reception area

• Create a positive first impression by providing friendly and professional customer service

• Daily contact with female offenders must always follow prison policies and procedures

North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) in Raleigh is the states primary prison for women. It houses the largest offender population in the state and serves as the support facility for the states other female prisons. The campus-style facility sits on 30 acres of a 190-acre tract of state land in southeast Raleigh. NCCIW houses offenders of all custody levels and control statuses including death row maximum close medium minimum safekeepers and youth. It provides the primary medical mental and alcohol and chemical dependency treatment for female offenders.

The facility operates a diagnostic center that serves as the point of entry into the prison system for women. Upon arrival offenders undergo a series of diagnostic evaluations that will determine future prison assignments.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The selected candidate will work Monday Friday 8am 5pm. Hours may vary at times depending on the business needs of the facility.

Veterans and National Guard Preference
