About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). The Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU) provides a centralised administrative service to a variety of Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospitals outpatient and private clinics. Department Secretary roles within ACBU are responsible for delivering a high standard of administrative support to the operations of outpatient departments including high level secretarial administrative and advisory support in accordance with the operating requirements of ACBU at RPA Hospital. This also includes providing a high standard of medical typing of reports in a timely manner as well as coordinating the receipt triage and review of General Practitioner and other referring specialist letters and referrals and other general administrative support as necessary.
The position is suited to a motivated individual with a health-related background and a strong commitment to supporting person-centred compassionate care for patients with life-limiting illnesses their families and carers. The role requires sound knowledge of computer systems including MS Office and Excel to efficiently manage administrative tasks reporting and data management. The successful candidate will contribute to smooth operational workflows and ensure accurate compliant documentation and billing processes within the department.
