We are partnering with our client a leading player in the industrial manufacturing sector to recruit a Senior HR Manager based in Bayan Lepas Penang. This role will lead end-to-end HR operations industrial relations and organisation development working closely with business leaders to ensure a compliant stable and high-performing workforce. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving employee relations succession planning performance management and overall organizational effectiveness within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Governance
- Lead end-to-end HR operations to ensure consistent efficient and compliant HR service delivery across the organisation.
- Ensure full compliance with local labour laws employment regulations and internal HR policies acting as the key advisor to management on HR governance matters.
- Oversee compensation benefits administration and HR policies to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for industrial relations matters including union engagement collective agreements grievance handling and dispute resolution.
- Manage employee relations cases with professionalism and discretion fostering a fair respectful and positive work environment.
- Partner closely with line managers to proactively address workforce issues and minimise employee relations risks.
Organisation Development & Talent Sustainability
- Drive organisation development initiatives to support business transformation workforce productivity and continuous improvement.
- Design implement and manage a robust succession planning framework to identify and develop high-potential talent for critical and leadership roles.
- Lead performance management and appraisal processes to strengthen accountability capability building and leadership effectiveness.
- Oversee learning development and capability-building initiatives aligned with organisational needs and future skills requirements.
Talent & Workforce Planning
- Manage recruitment onboarding and workforce planning to ensure timely availability of critical skills.
- Implement retention and engagement strategies to support long-term workforce stability and talent continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong expertise in HR operations and industrial relations
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and labour practices
- Proven experience in organisation development and change management
- Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach
