Position Summary:
The Family/Internal Medicine Medical Assistant supports providers and clinic nursing staff in delivering comprehensive patient-centered primary care services. This role assists with patient intake clinical tasks documentation and daily workflow coordination to help ensure efficient high-quality care within the family medicine clinic. The Family/Internal Medicine Medical Assistant prepares exam rooms supports routine procedures manages supplies and contributes to accurate timely communication among patients providers and interdisciplinary teams. Working as part of a collaborative care team the position promotes a positive patient experience through attentive support professionalism and reliable clinical assistance aligned with Trinity Health standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and room patients for family medicine visits by gathering relevant information assisting with clinical procedures and supporting providers throughout the exam.
- Perform delegated clinical tasks such as vital signs point of care testing specimen collection immunization support and documentation within scope and according to clinic protocols.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment by ensuring cleanliness readiness and adequate inventory to support daily clinic operations.
- Assist with scheduling needs referral coordination patient communication and follow up instructions to promote efficient workflow and care continuity.
- Document clinical information accurately in the electronic health record and follow confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
- Support operational needs such as stocking supplies traveling to satellite clinics when required and participating in the Convenient Care weekend schedule for Minot clinics as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Current North Dakota State registration as UAP
- Medical Assistant Registration or certification as a Medication Assistant III by ND Board of Nursing
- CPR certification required within orientation period
- Ongoing Point of Care certifications as required for department
Educational Requirements:
Experience Requirements:
- One year or more of MA experience preferred
- Clinic experience preferred
- Coding experience preferred
Special Skills or Training Requirements:
- May require travel to satellites
- Computer use
Physical Requirements:

The role may encounter periods of high patient volume and occasional exposure to minor procedures or testing activities.
