Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Houston TX area. The successful candidate will have a background working on large diesel engines - Cat Cummins Detroit - as well as experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as cranes dirt moving machinery and dump beds. This is a long-term position based at our campus in Houston with:
- 40 Hours
- Overtime and call-outs as needed - overtime paid at time-and-a-half
- Health (BCBS) Dental (Delta) Vision and Life insurance available
- 401k with employer match from day 1 no vesting required
- Short/ Long-term disability available
- Tadano Grove or Liebherr certification preferred
- Per diem and relocation is not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in the Houston metro area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for entering various petrochemical sites and performing repairs on existing equipment primarily cranes. This will require a TWIC card the ability to pass a background check and attend HASC for training requirements to enter facilities. It will also require a valid Drivers License to drive a company repair truck.

Repairs automotive equipment including but not limited to trucks carts buggies air compressors welding machines cranes dirt equipment and trailers. Non-exempt role; Reports to Direct Supervisor / Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.
Functional Requirements:
Perform preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.
Qualification Standards:
- High school or equivalent
- General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment
- Organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and work self-directed and alone at times
- ASME certified preferred
- Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat safety glasses gloves respirator hearing protection safety harness with lanyard etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace
