Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

The role

As a Senior Engineer your role is to provide support for core network infrastructure ensuring high availability across key components including core and edge routing switching and hybridcloud connectivity. Act as a senior escalation point for the Network team and wider technical groups serving as the technical lead on businesscritical projects. This is a 12 month FTC opporunity covering parental leave.

What will I be doing

• Act as lead technical engineer on critical network projects.
• Plan and execute network-wide core replacement programs under change control and CAB processes.
• Serve as an escalation point for technical issues internally and across teams.
• Monitor diagnose and resolve problems within the ANS infrastructure
• Proactively work to identify areas of improvement in the platform
• Maintain good interdepartmental relationships with other technical and commercial teams through regular interaction and collaboration.
• Responsible for the generation of LLD from HLD
• Ensure our infrastructure is up to date by planning & performing patching and firmware upgrades
• Working with vendors to raise escalations and troubleshoot issues
• Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
• Out-of-hours work on core systems
• Deliver working within ANS change control CAB and incident management
• Plan prepare and deliver for upcoming maintenance works.

What will I bring to the role

• Previous experience as a Network engineer working on Projects following an Agile framework
• Experience with Arista and Cisco Switching technologies including BGP ISIS VXLAN and MPLS
• Experience with Cisco ASA and Fortigate Firewalling
• Proven technical ability and troubleshooting skills
• Experience leading large scale projects is desirable
• Ability to produce and maintain Low Level Design Documentation
• Significant Attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as self-driven for individual tasks
• Passion to deliver projects on time
• Ability to take ownership of areas and problems
