Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Engineer to join our Professional Services delivery team on a fixed term basis to support the delivery of a major AWS migration and separation programme for an enterprise customer.
This role will form part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team working alongside Solution Architects Project Managers and customer technical stakeholders to build migrate and deploy AWS infrastructure and application services as part of a structured separation of an existing hybrid estate into a new AWS Organisation.
The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in delivering landing zone implementation networking build activities server migration and application platform deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches.
This is a customer-facing delivery role within a professional services consultancy environment not an internal platform engineering position.
Key Responsibilities
Working as a core member of the delivery team you will be responsible for supporting the build and migration activities required to separate an existing application and infrastructure estate into a newly established AWS environment.
Required Experience
Demonstrable experience delivering AWS infrastructure solutions within a Professional Services or consultancy environment
Experience working directly with external customers to deliver AWS migration or transformation programmes
Hands-on experience supporting enterprise AWS migration delivery
Experience supporting structured migration waves within planned migration programmes
Experience participating in live migration cutovers within production environments
Willingness and ability to support planned out-of-hours migration activities
Hands-on experience with AWS landing zone and multi-account environments
Experience implementing AWS networking solutions across hybrid environments
Strong working knowledge of AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) or similar migration tooling
Experience provisioning AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or Terraform)
Experience working as part of structured delivery teams aligned to SOW-driven engagements
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting enterprise scale migration programmes
Experience working with container platforms such as ECS
Experience supporting DR enablement using AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery
Experience integrating AWS environments with enterprise identity providers
Familiarity with Palo Alto firewall deployments within AWS
Personal Attributes
Comfortable operating within customer-facing delivery environments
Able to work collaboratively within architect-led delivery teams
Strong attention to detail when executing build and migration activities
Able to support structured migration waves including planned out-of-hours work
Pragmatic approach to delivery within fixed-scope engagements
