Job Summary

Process Coordinator

Responsible to:

Special Services Director

For Whom/What Responsible:

To administer educational evaluations assist in determining eligibility for special education and assist with compliance of local state and federal requirements for the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504

Qualifications:

Valid Missouri special education certification and course work or equivalent training related to administration of standardized academic achievement tests.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. IDEA and Section 504 Procedures

  • Serves as primary point of contact and parent liaison for 504 and IDEA evaluation processes (initial triennial and requested revaluations).
  • Schedules and documents meetings involved in the evaluation process in accordance with IDEA and Section 504 regulations.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with all district IDEA and 504 timelines.
  • Serves as a primary observer for student observations in evaluations.
  • Conducts schedules and facilitates testing as needed.
  • Collaborates with case managers to promote best practices in drafting compliant timely processes.
  • Collaborates with staff on FBAs and BIPS as appropriate.
  • Communicates with the educational team and Special Services Director about processes students are involved in and collects input from them as needed.
  • Practices and promotes confidentiality and proper management of confidential records and information.
  • Serves as LEA in absence of the Director as needed.

  1. Homebound Case & Privately Placed Manager

  • Serves as case manager for students who are parentally privately placed and are not receiving speech services.
  • Serves as case manager for students who are placed outside of the district such as contract service providers homeschool students or State School placement and receiving services.
  • Serves as case manager for students receiving homebound instruction when appropriate or assigned.

  1. Professional Learning

  • Attends MOCASE LASE and Law Conference with or for the Special Services Director.
  • Stays abreast of pertinent changes and updates from DESE case law and trending topics in special education and Section 504.
  • Provides strategies and training support for staff members as requested by the Special Services Director.
  • Collaborates with data and PLC teams with both CES and CHS teams.



Term of Employment:

Teacher Contract with an additional 10 days per year

Evaluation:

The evaluation is conducted by the Special Services Director according to board policies and Concordia R-II adopted model of performance-based evaluation.
