We are hiring a Basic Grade Cardiac Physiologist to a Hospital in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures equipment and techniques used in contemporary clinical practice.
Perform non-invasive cardiac investigations including ECGs Holter and event monitoring ambulatory BP monitoring stress testing tilt table testing pacemaker/ICD follow-up and programming and echocardiography in line with hospital policies.
Assist with and perform invasive cardiac procedures such as angiography angioplasty right heart catheterisation pacemaker and ICD implants IVUS and FFR/iFR as appropriate to grade.
Accurately interpret data perform precise measurements and ensure timely delivery and reporting of all patient investigations.
Communicate effectively with consultants GPs multidisciplinary teams and hospital staff to support high-quality patient care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation departmental records and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
Ensure safe practice through equipment maintenance infection control standards electrical safety awareness and prompt reporting of faults incidents or accidents.
Contribute to department operations including policy and procedure development quality improvement initiatives audits and accreditation processes.
Maintain professional competence through continuous education mandatory training study days and keeping up to date with advances in cardiology.
Demonstrate professionalism flexibility effective time management teamwork and leadership through preceptorship performance reviews and adherence to hospital standards
Requirements
BSc in Clinical Measurement or Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (DIT Kevin Street Dublin) or equivalent qualification
A.S.C.S.T (Associate of the Society for Cardiological Science & Technology UK) or equivalent professional accreditation
Minimum of one years post-qualification experience working in a Cardiac Department
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Sound knowledge and understanding of cardiology principles and practices
Ability to apply research and evidence-based practice in a clinical setting
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Proactive approach to quality control audit and continuous service improvement
