We are seeking experienced and highly qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapists with Polysomnography Certification to support the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System under a federal contract. Providers will deliver high-quality respiratory and sleep diagnostic services in accordance with VA policies Joint Commission standards and the contract Statement of Work
Core Respiratory Therapy Responsibilities
Administer respiratory treatments including aerosolized medications oxygen therapy and airway clearance techniques
Perform airway management including suctioning and tracheostomy care
Set up manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation (CPAP APAP BiPAP)
Respond to rapid response and emergency situations as assigned
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment
Accurately document patient care in required clinical and administrative systems
Polysomnography Responsibilities
Perform full-night and split-night polysomnography studies
Conduct CPAP titration studies when clinically indicated
Monitor and record EEG EOG EMG EKG airflow oximetry body position and sleep stages
Perform electronic and manual scoring and maintain technical logs
Work under the clinical direction of Pulmonary and Respiratory Therapy leadership
Requirements
Required Education
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Polysomnography role: completion of an accredited sleep program
Licensure & Certifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC
Active California Respiratory Care license
CPR and ACLS certification (current)
Experience
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
At least 1 year in critical care
Polysomnography role: 2 years of PSG experience
Polysomnography Credentials (One Required)
RPSGT (BRPT)
RST (AASM)
SDS (NBRC)
