About Us

Football South West is the regional football association responsible for supporting developing and promoting the game across Western Australias South West region. As the primary administrative body for the area Football South West provides leadership and guidance to local clubs manages competition structures and works to strengthen pathways for players coaches referees and volunteers.

The organisation is committed to fostering inclusive participation enhancing community engagement and contributing to the long-term growth of the sport at all levels. Through strategic planning club affiliation support and ongoing development initiatives Football South West plays a central role in ensuring the sport continues to thrive throughout the region.

The Role

As the Referee Coordinator youll take the lead in recruiting training and supporting referees and match officials to ensure high quality officiating across all Football South West competitions.

Initially engaged on a 12-month contract & working 20 hours per week youll be our Go-To person on matchdays building relationships understanding officiating environments and delivering meaningful on the ground support. Additional key role requirements include but are not limited to the following.

  • Recruit train mentor and support referees and match officials.
  • Coordinate referee appointments for all FSW competitions and events.
  • Deliver referee education programs including structured pathways for junior referees.
  • Lead core administrative processes inc. registrations accreditation & match fee claims.
  • Build strong relationships with clubs advisory groups staff and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain policies procedures and compliance relating to officiating.
  • Provide leadership performance guidance and support to match officials.
  • Attend matchdays to understand officiating needs and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Act as the primary contact for Laws of the Game queries and officiating related matters.

About You

Youre a confident organised communicator who can lead support and inspire referees while building strong relationships across the football community. To be considered for this role you will also possess the following. Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)

  • Experience managing match officials or officiating requirements in sport.
  • Knowledge of the FIFA Laws of the Game and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead mentor and motivate people.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with volunteers and community sporting environments.
  • High levels of initiative organisation and customer service focus.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel throughout South West WA.
