To:All Teaching and Administrative PersonnelBrockton Public SchoolsFrom:Dr. Kathleen Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSubject:Kindergarten ELL Screening at the SRPIC/Dual Language Screening at GeorgeDates:4:00-7:30pm on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays beginning April 16 2026 - June:00-6:30pm on Monday June 1 2026 Thursday June 11 2026 George SchoolLocation:School Registration and Parent Information Center 60 Crescent Street/Manthala George School of Global StudiesThe Bilingual Department and the School Registration and Parent Information Center are seeking Community Facilitators to support ESL teachers in communicating (interpreting and explaining) WIDA Screener results and program recommendations for incoming kindergarten students. This assistance is needed on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons starting from Tuesday April 15th. Community Facilitators will be assigned to interpret assessment results explain program recommendations and complete required documentation with parents/guardians every Tuesday and : in Cape Verdean/Portuguese and English; Haitian/French and English and Spanish and interpretation and translation skills able to conduct simultaneous interpretation and translate written documents (educational legal parent notices etc.). value and be responsive to the cultural racial ethnic differences of families and individuals being an atmosphere of professionalism confidentiality and consistently reinforces parental with the laws and regulations that govern the education of students whose first language is not organizational skills some computer skills helpful and comfort in communicating with diverse populations school administrators and staff and community AND RESPONSIBILITIES: parent/teacher and provide equitable access to non-English speaking families for parents during the screening process with the Site Supervisor and ESL teachersCOMPENSATION:According to ContractFund Code to be Charged:ELL Requirements
