Job Description
The story of Ethical Bean is rooted firmly in place and 1999 founders Lloyd Bernhardt and Kim Schachte spent most of a year in Guatemala awaiting the adoption of their daughter. There they watched and learned about the country and the coffee and the people working to make a living growing something we all enjoy. They believed there was a better more equitable way to honour these farmers and Ethical Bean was born. Ethical Bean in Vancouver and Kraft Heinz have recently formed an exciting partnership.
Role Overview
Ethical Bean Coffee is looking for an experienced café manager at our café in Vancouver someone with a passion for coffee a charismatic personality and attention to detail. Responsibilities include customer service coffee and food preparation and helping to maintain a clean and welcoming café.
The starting wage for the role is $20.27/hr
Responsibilities
Taking orders from customers and handling cash
Preparing food and drinks
Helping to keep the café organized and clean
Opening and/or closing the café as required
Supply ordering and inventory control
Labor scheduling
Monitoring and controlling the Food Safety and Sanitation programs
Monitor and controlling the Material Safety Data Sheet
Requirements
Availability during café working hours (7:00am 3:30pm)
Passionate about coffee and sustainability
Excellent customer service skills
Previous experience with a manual espresso machine and latte art is considered an asset.
Drivers license Food Safe certification and Hep A certificate are an asset but not a requirement.
