The Role
The HR Generalist is a primary point of contact for site managers and employees on a wide range of employment-related matters. This role supports day-to-day HR needs partners closely with leaders in the field and contributes to projects and initiatives that strengthen the employee experience as we scale.
This is a high-visibility hands-on role for an HR professional who wants to understand the business build relationships quickly and apply strong HR fundamentals in a practical real-world environment.
What Youll Do
- Serve as a primary HR contact for site managers and employees regarding HR systems timecards benefits questions (not administration) and general employment matters
- Support employee relations including investigations documentation and performance management
- Triage workplace injuries and partner with internal teams and vendors on workers compensation matters
- Assist with onboarding offboarding and employee lifecycle processes
- Support HR projects and programs such as employee engagement initiatives anniversaries and recognition efforts
- Jump in to support recruiting and hiring efforts as needed including onboarding support
- Spend time in the field building relationships understanding site operations and supporting business needs (including site visits grand openings and peak periods)
- Contribute to HR reporting process improvement and operational continuity
- Partner closely with the HR team to ensure consistent compliant and people-focused HR practices
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- 4 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role
- Strong foundation across core HR functions including employee relations compliance HR systems and performance management
- Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in day-to-day HR situations
- Experience supporting leaders and employees in an operational or multi-site environment preferred
- Willingness to be hands-on adaptable and flexible as business needs change
- Interest in HR operations reporting and building sustainable processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust quickly
- HRIS experience required; payroll reporting or benefits experience a plus
- SHRM-CP PHR or similar certification a plus (not required)
Location & Travel
- This position is based out of our St. George Support Office
- Travel to sites is required based on business needs
- During peak season travel may include spending up to one week per month in the field
