Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to join our fire business unit.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Service install inspect test and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 local fire codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform acceptance annual semi-annual and periodic inspections of fire alarm and other life safety systems.
- Identify system deficiencies and document corrective actions required.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports test results and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate all work with various contacts related to our contracts and various fire authorities.
- Verify proper operation of initiating devices notification appliances control panels and monitoring systems.
- Ensure systems meet AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training in electronics electrical systems or fire alarm technology preferred
- Several years (typically 5 for senior level) of hands-on experience in fire alarm installation service and repair; prior roles as a junior technician or apprenticeship common
- Relevant certifications: NICET Level II/III/IV in Fire Alarm Systems state-specific licenses or manufacturer-specific training
- Strong knowledge of fire codes (e.g. NFPA 72) electrical systems low-voltage wiring and troubleshooting techniques
- Physical ability: Work on ladders/scaffolding lift up to 50 lbs and perform fieldwork
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Attention to detail problem-solving customer service basic computer skills for programming/reporting and ability to work independently or in teams
- Excellent communication for client interactions and mentoring
Salary: $25/hr to $40 an hour depending on experience
