The beautiful Hilton Salt Lake City Center is looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join their team at Spencers Steaks & Chops!
Spencers Steak & Chops is a refined longstanding steakhouse known for serving USDA Prime steaks fresh seafood and contemporary American cuisine in an elegant upscale setting. Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City it offers handcut expertly prepared steaks craft cocktails and an awardwinning wine program creating a polished dining experience ideal for both business and celebratory occasions.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment. They will excel in executing highquality dishes support strong kitchen leadership maintain excellent organization and foodsafety standards and bring creativity teamwork and consistency to every service.
What will I be doing
As a Sous Chef you would be responsible for preparing maintaining and monitoring quality control for hot food items in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations to include but not limited to preparation and production of all hotel meals food quality and presentation compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation team member productivity and performance implementation of policies and procedures cost controls and overall profitability
Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage as needed
Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include but not limited to providing supervision conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations training scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward
Execute prep work and line cooking duties with consistency efficiency and attention to detail.
Maintain a clean organized and sanitary workstation in accordance with kitchen standards.
Assist with receiving storing and rotating inventory following proper foodsafety procedures.
Ensure compliance with federal state local and company health safety sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
