BYU-Pathway Worldwide is supported by the Information and Communication Services (ICS) department of the Church. We are excited to announce the opening of a solution manager position in the ICS Education technology team that oversees a number of the applications that are used by BYU-Pathway students. These include the student portal EnglishConnect for students taking English classes and an offline course application built on Instructure Canvas.

Mgr Solution 1 is a manager position that leads a team responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of IT solutions within the organization.A key focus is creating deliveringincluding the ideation planning execution collecting requirements and operational decommissioningand operating these IT solutions for the organization globally. This management position approves solution architecture and manages all financial technical and human resources supporting end-to-end IT solution lifecycle ownership. This position provides vision and direction to customers on how technology can be used to increase user productivity solve complex business problems and support the mission of the organization.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Establishes and maintains trusted partner relationships:
- Identifies partner stakeholders at all levels meets with them on a regular basis and becomes part of their senior management team/directors council.
- Influences the partner as a result of understanding and acting upon their needs.
- Identifies general and domain-specific technology trends and develops strategies to leverage technology for partners benefit.
Identifies general technology trends and collaborates on strategies to leverage technology for users benefit.
Promotes and supports portfolio division and department strategies and goals.
Articulates portfolio vision and roadmap:
- Translates business vision in terms that can be easily understood and communicates that vision to all stakeholders.
- Leverages solution/initiative roadmap to get buy-in from key partner and stakeholders.
- Sets and achieves solution/initiative goals and project milestones that support vision and align with division and department goals.
Executes portfolio and project plans. Develops proposed budgets with business justifications time frame and impact. Manages approved budgets.
Oversees product full lifecycleideation planning execution collecting requirements and operational decommission

Demonstrates leadership and creates a high performing workforce. Utilizes the Leadership Pattern in all aspects of the role
Reviews staffing needs and resource allocations with supported portfolios on a regular basis and addresses issues proactively
Forecasts budgets
The employee must regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
The employee is authorized in partnership with HR to hire or fire employees and recommends advancement promotion or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line
